Welcome to Ethiopian Canadian Families Association
The ECFA was founded with the purpose of connecting and supporting families with children of Ethiopian heritage, and promoting awareness of Ethiopian culture within the greater Victoria area. Our community has since expanded to across Vancouver Island (plus a few members in BC mainland, prairie provinces and western USA) Our mission is to foster and support a balance of culture and values for families identifying as both Ethiopian and Canadian.

Our mission is to foster and support a balance of culture and values for families identifying as both Ethiopian and Canadian. We are working towards fulfilling this mission through a variety of programs and events, including E Camp, a summer soccer program, an annual Family Day party, and a scholarship program.
Quick History
The Ethiopian-Canadian Families Association was founded in 2012 with the purpose of:
1. Connecting and supporting families with children of Ethiopian heritage, and
2. Promoting awareness of Ethiopian culture in the greater Victoria region.

The Value of an ECFA Membership
You don’t need to be a ECFA member to come to our events, but we highly recommend it.
ECFA is more than just a group of volunteers who organize a weekend camp — much more. We work passionately to help foster and support families identifying as both Ethiopian and Canadian. You can be part of that.
You won’t be required to attend any meetings, or lose any evenings or weekends — you decide how involved you want to be. You decide how involved you want to be. Plus you’ll be on our email list and you’ll be kept up to date with a few communications per year.
Becoming a member is so beneficial to the ECFA in helping us accomplish what we’ve set out to do. There are power in numbers after all.
To renew or apply for your ECFA membership is easy, just complete this application form. The membership fee of $10/family is payable once a year. This payment can be made by e-transfer and is so very helpful to our organization to cover administrative costs.
