Our volunteers are the back bone of this great community. It’s also a great way to get to know your fellow campers.
Youth Volunteering
Do you want to escape from the little kids? Do you need to put in some volunteering hours for school? Or do you just want to give back for all of the great memories you have, making some new ones on the way. Well, we have some great news for you.
ECFA wants to give you the lift you need in your final years of high school or your first few years as an adult. Volunteer for High School credit hours and build your resume with some great transferrable skills. Please contact us and let us know how you would like to be involved.

Leading the way
Remember when you were younger, and all the bigger kids were just so interesting, daring, equipped and accomplished? Do you remember feeling like you couldn’t wait to be that age? Well- you have arrived! And with that comes your chance to give back, and lead the way for the ones younger than you. They want to be like you and learn from you. Mentoring could be one of the most satisfying things you could do with your time.
It can take on may forms; coaching sports, making crafts, leading an activity- the sky’s the limit!

We currently have need for volunteers in the following positions:
Community Liaison
Every year, without fail, the ECFA Board of Directors hears that it would be wonderful for the Ethiopian community and the adoptive families to be able to better connect. To this end, we are looking for someone from the Ethiopian community to work with the Board of Directors to help find ways to bring the two groups closer together. Some thoughts so far have included sharing information about church events, quarterly coffee ceremonies, and recipe sharing. There really are no limits to great ideas to bring us all together to celebrate Ethiopian culture!
Events Coordinator
We are hoping to start having more Victoria based activities planned throughout the year (sorry out-of-towners). The Victoria Event Coordinator would be tasked with planning and helping organize special events where we could come together as a community. These could be as simple as things like monthly picnics or creating a Times Colonist 10k ECFA group, or be more ambitious like having the ECFA join the Victoria Day Parade or celebrations of Ethiopian holidays. If you have some great ideas for our community to come together and you love to plan, we would love to have you volunteer for this position.
